My name is Quintin Johnson-Swanson; I am the great-grandson of Elmer Johnson & June Johnson, the grandson of Rob Johnson & Debbie Johnson, and the son of Alan Swanson and Lynn Clark. I have spent my entire life in Tokeland, and it is here that I have found my purpose and my passion.
Education has always been a cornerstone of my journey. I hold an Associate's Degree in Education from Grays Harbor College, a Certificate of Specialization in Leadership & Management from Harvard Business School Online, a Certificate in Planning and Land-Use Studies from the United Tribe's Technical College, I am a Certified Grants Manager through Falmouth Institute, and I have earned a Level 3 Certification in Tribal Gaming through the National Indian Gaming Association. I am also studying in the Native Pathways Program to receive my Bachelor's degree in Native Studies through the Evergreen State College where I have learned a wealth of knowledge pertaining to Tribes in the Pacific Northwest.
These credentials are not mere letters on paper; they represent my unwavering commitment to education and my dedication to utilizing knowledge for the betterment of our community. I am constantly seeking ways to learn and grow for the benefit of our tribe.
As Chairman, I have represented the Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe at different forums such as: ATNI, NCAI, the Centennial Accord, the White House Tribal Nations Summit, before Congress, and in local, federal and statewide government-to-government relations meetings—advocating for our relocation efforts, climate resiliency, funding for our Tribe & for Indian Country, economic development, and a stronger future for our people. I have been featured in several documentaries including PBS and Frontline and have been a spokesperson at national conferences: I was on a panel with Chairman Ron Allen of the Port Gamble Tribe at NCAI, a keynote speaker at the ATNI National Tribal Leaders Climate Summit, and a speaker and panelist at the National Climate Change Preparedness Conference, just to name a few.

Testimony Before the House Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies - February 26, 2025.
I was selected by WA State Rep. Emily Randall to testify before the House Committee on Natural resources regarding the TERRA act.
